Well Sort of! I told you all if i have something to say, ill be back! I have a few reviews coming and one if for the famous CLARISONIC face cleansing brush! So keep an eye out for that!
I just wanted to drop by and tell you all about thrift/consignmet shops. We all always need new clothes, especially when seasons change, but not all of us have the spare money lying around to buy them (especially when we are spending our hard earned cash on MAKEUP!)
One thing i have been doing for years is bringing my clothes to consignment shops. Thift stores typically take donations, and do not give you money/buy the clothes from you. Consignment shops on the other hand do.
Some consignment shops will give you money upfront for the clothes, and others will give you a percentage for what your items sell for once they sell.
I really prefer the upfront because there is no waiting on your money.
Definitely go and check out some consignment shops in your area. Some are very picky about what they take, and others aren't. Ask how much per item they pay, when you get paid, etc.
For instance, yesterday I brought about 16 items with me, they bought 12 of them and I got paid about $35. My sister-in-law got 24 of her items bought, and she got $64.
You never know how much money is lying/hanging aroung in your closet, so go through your wardrobe for items that no longer fit/you wont wear and go get some money for them!

I'm Back With a Review!! Prometheus Cosmetics!

Hi all! Long time no see! I had some free time this morning, and since I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product, I had to give you all a quick review!

You all have noticed I'm sure that I have been using many products from Prometheus Cosmetics. Here is another cream that is to die for!

I did a review on their day moisturizer a while back, and although I liked it, it didnt moisturize my super dry cheeks enough. Cue in the Night Cream!

Rest and Repair Night Cream is a lovely cream on the thicker side meant to be used before bed. What I adore about this cream is that, although it is heavier, it does not leave my face greasy!! Many night creams have a tendency to do that. I use about a nickel sized amount and start applying it on my cheeks then blend it out. Within seconds, my skin has completely absorbed all the creamy goodness and my skin feels super soft and hydrated.

What I love most is the scent. It contains lavender oil which helps melt away the stress from the day and help me sleep well throughout the night.

"Rest and Repair Anti-Oxidant Night Cream

Now, although this cream is meant for nighttime, I needed some extra moisture for the day. I use about half the amount for daytime. Like I said before, this cream does not leave a greasy layer on the skin. So it works perfectly to hydrate my dry skin, without making me look shiney throughout the day.

There isnt much more I can say except GO BUY THIS CREAM! Whether you have dry skin or not, Rest and Repair will help moisturize your skin, even out the tone of your skin, and relax you to a night of endless dreams!

Real Life Gets In The Way

Happy Friday to all my amazing followers! I bet you all are looking forward to this coming weekend as I am!

First and foremost, I want to thank all of my followers who have been around since the beginning and all of my newer followers. I have always done this blog for you!

Second, at times, our real lives get in the way of our blog lives! I have always strived to regularly post on this blog, and did for quite some time! But, sometimes, I cannot keep that end of the deal.

Just to give you all some insight, I have always worked a desk job. In the AM I work at a desk job, and in the afternoons I was working at a job where I could be on my laptop and what not, so blogging was super easy. Now, I still work a desk job in the AM, but I now have a second job at a grocery store. So, as you can see, I cannot simply blog while ringing customers through the check lane! Lol. I am also working 50 hours a week at a minimum at all hours of the day/night. So when I DO get some time off, its usually spent eating, sleeping, cleaning or spending time with my boyfriend. Things I don't have time to do as much anymore.

I do adore blogging, and do read everyone's blogs still in the morning, but I dont always have time to comment, or to make a new post on my blog as much as I would love to!

BUT I'm not going away forever! If I try a product that is absolutely amazing, and I think you all need to know about it, I WILL do a review for you all. If I do an awesome look and have time to snap some shots of it, I will definitely make a tutorial for you all!

So, I may not be blogging as much, but I'm still here. I just dont want to make promises to post this and that, and than not do it! Id rather not make promises I cant keep!

So, I'm not saying goodbye, I'm saying Ill see you around, because I will!

Review: Prometheus Cosmetics Radiant Glow Anti-Oxidant Day Moisturizer

Good Tuesday Morning followers and readers! I hope all of you are well! First and foremost, I apologize for my lack of blogging! I just started a second job which has kept me super busy and tired, and my computer had not been working! But I am back up and running! In the mean time, I have been given the opportunity to review more products from Prometheus Cosmetics! Today, I'll be reviewing their Radiant Glow Anti-Oxidant Day Moisturizer!

$18.00 for 1.7 oz. Can be purchased directly from Prometheus Cosmetics website.

Scent:

This product contains grapefruit and sweet orange peel oil, so it does has a citrus-y orange scent. It is very apparent. I applied it this morning about 30 minutes ago, and I can still smell it. BUT I do not have makeup on. Once makeup is applied, I no longer can smell it. If you have a sensitive nose, or do not prefer citrus scents, you may not like this.

Texture/Feel:

This moisturizer is slightly thinner than others I have tried, but not runny. The directions say to massage it into the skin. After it absorbs into my skin, my faces texture changes dramatically. On top of feeling super soft, my skin is INSTANTLY brighter. If you suffer from dull skin, this may help you!

Overall, I am very impressed with all of the products I have tried from Prometheus Cosmetics. There isnt much more I can say. This moisturizer would be great for people with normal-oily skin as it is super light. For people with dryer skin, they may need to use slightly more. It softens and dramatically brightens the skin which is something I adore in this product since I suffer from dull skin.

Dr. Franken Polish This blog shows you how to create your own nail polishes by "frankening" colors together to make your own unique color. Not only does she show you her creations, but she tells you the exact measurements so you can franken the polishes yourself!
Vampy Varnish Nail blog for us short nailed girls! Over at Vampy Varnish, she shows you beautiful swatches of polish collections from numerous brands, with spot on swatches and shows how they look on shorter nails!
Scrangie I adore Scrangie's blog. She has GORGEOUS nails and nail beds! She as well shows amazing swatches and BEAUTIFUL bottle pictures!
The Nailphile Siobhan over at the Nailphile has some of the most gorgeous long nails I have ever seen! I am so jealous! As well as showing lovely swatches, she also is a lover of Konad and details all of the plates and colors she uses to create her Konadicures (Konad manicure)!

Review: Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge

We all know how difficult it is to find the best tool to apply our liquid foundations. The Beauty Blender has been known as THE sponge to use for liquid foundation, but at $19.99 a sponge, there was no way I could even fathom spending that much on a SPONGE! Cue in Sonia Kashuk's Blending sponge.

Price:

At $9.99 it is half of the Beauty Blender. Can be bought at Target stores. Pricey for a sponge, but it is re-usable as opposed to disposable.

Texture/Feel:

When the sponge is dry, it is smaller than the palm of my hand. Its (dry) texture is that of a stiff sponge. Once wet, it swells up the taller than my palm, and its texture is that of a soft, pliable sponge.

How to use:

To start, run under almost warm water. Squeeze the sponge to allow it to absorb water, ring out, and squeeze in towel to remove excess water. Sponge should not be wet, but now slightly damp. To apply foundation: either blend it over the skin like a typical sponge applicator, OR stipple it on the skin by bouncing the sponge over the face.

How to Clean:

Dampen sponge by running under water and squeezing the ball to allow it to absorb the water. Apply some cleaner (I use baby shampoo) and massage throughout the ball GENTLY. Massaging/rubbing/cleaning the sponge to roughly will cause you to rip it. Rinse sponge (like you would a normal kitchen sponge) This takes quite a bit of rinsing, then dry by squeezing out excess water in towel and allow to air dry.

Pros:

I absolutely adore the finish this sponge gives when I use it with MAC Studio Fix Fluid. SFF tends to look cakey and mask like if not super blended, and with the sponge, I don't have to kill my arm to do so. It gives a super natural finish to my typically super matte foundation. It blends the foundation into my skin so effortlessly, and looks almost airbrushed. I prefer to stipple or bounce it on my skin as opposed to wiping/blending it over the skin. What I love the most is the pointed tip. It allows me to easily blend around my nose, and eyes. I can also use this with concealor for under my eyes or to precisely apply concealor to blemishes. Sometimes, I like to apply my foundation with my 109 brush, and then bounce this over the skin to completely blend it in.

Cons:

Typically, I use 1-1.5 pumps of foundation for my entire face when I use a brush like the 187 or 109, but when I use this I find I have to use at least 2 pumps to get the coverage I prefer. Even though the sponge is very damp, it still seems to absorb alot of my foundation. Hence why I apply my foundation with my 109, then use this after to finish blending in the foundation by bouncing it on the skin. Another con is having to wet it before use. With normal disposable wedge sponges, a mist of water or Fix+ is suitable enough to dampen the sponge, but with the blending sponge, I would use a whole bottle of Fix+ attempting to dampen it enough. So I have to go to my makeup room, get my blending sponge, bring it to the bathroom, dampen it, dry it, then go back to my makeup room to apply my makeup.

Overall, I really do adore the finish this sponge gives to my foundation. As I stated, I like to apply my foundation with my 109, then to finish blending, bounce the damp blending sponge over my skin. This way, I still get the great finish/look this sponge gives without wasting a ton of my foundation when I use just the sponge to apply my foundation. The price is great considering it is re-usable. Not only can this be used to apply liquid foundation, but you can also use it to apply cream foundation, concealor, cream blushes, cheek stains, as well as any liquid or cream product like moisturizer, primer, liquid highlighters and so on!

Review: Clean and Clear Soft Oil- Free Day Moisturizer

Finding a moisturizer is a difficult task. Some make your skin too oily, some don't moisturize enough, or certain ones break you out. I had found my Holy Grail moisturizer from LUSH, Imperialis. BUT, it is expensive, and it expires, and shipping from LUSH is a pain in the toosh! Slow and expensive! So I was off on the hunt for a new moisturizer! I have been using this moisturizer for quite a while now (months) Let's see how it has worked out!

Price:

$8.49 from http://www.drugstore.com/. I have seen this for sale EVERYWHERE! From walmart, target, to my local grocery store! All for well under $10. Perfect price for the product!

Scent:

What I love about Clean and Clear's Soft line is the scent! It has a light, super clean scent that I adore! It is noticeable as you apply it to your face, and within a minute, the scent fades. I typically don't care for scented facial products, but this one I don't mind one bit!

Texture:

This moisturizer is extremely light weight, yet super moisturizing! I have dry skin, but it tends to get oily if I use a heavy moisturizer, so this one fits the bill! What I also love about this is the fact it has SPF 15. Of course it could be higher, but some SPF is better than none. The one thing I didn't like about this moisturizer at first was when I applied it, after a few seconds, it felt like I had a light layer on my skin, caused by the SPF. But now that I use it daily, I don't notice it at all, I just remember noticing it at first.

What is super amazing about this moisturizer is how it really makes my skin SOFT! Like a baby's bottom! In my opinion, moisturizer, whether it be for your face, hands, or body, should make your skin soft, which to me most don't. This moisturizer is different. As I apply it, my skin instantly softens. It makes my skin so soft and supple. Its unbelieveable.

Also, this moisturizer soaks in SUPER fast. Typically, after I wash my face, I instantly apply my eye cream, then this moisturizer. I keep them in my bedroom so I remember to use them right away. Then, I walk right into my makeup room and I'm ready to apply my makeup. That is how quick it absorbs!

Overall, I really adore this moisurizer. Its lightweight, yet super mosturizing, has a great scent, and doesn't break my skin out. And, it doesnt break my wallet either. I love that I can purchase this right from stores I visit regularly, and not have to pay and wait on shipping! If you're on the hunt for a new moisturizer, check this one out, you're sure to love it!

Review: Prometheus Cosmetics Wide Awake Eye Cream

I never really thought about using eye creams. I don't have super puffy eyes, dark circles, and at almost 22 I only have one little line under each eye (which already worries me). So, I spent the money on MAC's Fast Response Eye Cream, and needless to say, I was disappointed. It felt pretty heavy, and is pricey, and didn't seem to do much.

After purchasing my first Pretty Pink Box, info here, I recieved a full size eye cream from Prometheus Cosmetics.

Info from Prometheus Cosmetics:

"Wide Awake Anti - Oxidant Eye Cream - This multi tasking eye cream is an instant eye brighter that provides deep hydration to smooth and soften fine lines while reducing dark circles.
Green Tea and caffeine reduce puffiness while cucumber soothes and cools upon contact. Vitamin E and soy repairs skin imperfections and discolorations while adding radiance to the skin. "

Price:

$16.00 for 0.5 fl oz. This is a decent size bottle and should last me at LEAST 6 months-1 year. I've had it for about 3 months and don't even think I've put a dent in it. I think the price is perfect for what you get!

Packaging:

I LOVE the packaging. I'm not a fan of tubs (hygienic reasons, yuck!) or tubes, because you have to unscrew the cap and that takes to much time (high maintenance much!). The packaging on this is actually really neat! If you look at the picture, there is a dark pink circle on top. You twist the bottle and that pink circle pops up and locks in place so you can pump it! You need less than a full pump for BOTH eyes!

Texture:

Compared to MAC's Fast Response Eye Cream, this feels more like a cream as opposed to a gel/silicone like MAC's. On top of that, its super light, yet really hydrating! Like I stated above, I need less than one pump for both eyes. When I smooth it under and all around my eye, my fingers just glides over this product! It prevents almost all tugging even when I "rub" the product in. Im not much of a "tapping" person when it comes to the eye area, it annoys my finger, so I love the fact that this product causes no tugging while I rub the product in with my ring finger.

Scent:

There is a super light, clean scent from this product. Like a cucumber scent. Very lovely.

All in all, I adore this eye cream, and when I run out, will definitely repurchase this!

Hello everyone! I want to apologize for my absence. Since 4th of July, I feel like I haven't gotten anything done. With July near an end, I am trying to spend as much time outside, enjoying the nice summer weather while we have it here! I've also been spending alot of time reading, as I enjoy it even more than makeup! I know huge shock!

I will be back to regular blogging this week!

I still have not decided whether or not to have a blog sale. Although I have a decent collection, not nearly as large as some, I do use almost every item I have at some point, so for me to sit down and try to part with things are difficult, as these items are what started my passion for makeup! I will keep you all updated on that as well if I do decide to have one!

Another reason I have not been blogging is motivation for one. I have barely worn any makeup, let alone done my hair in weeks! But I'm slowly coming out of that rut. As well, being a blogger who reviews many items, my wallet is nearly empty most times. As I have explained before, I am trying to save up to attend beauty school to get my Estethician License. So, if I'm broke, I cannot buy as many products to review.

But don't fret! I still have a household of items to review for you all!

As usual, at certain times, there are some products I just love and use often. Do you ever do that? Like, for a few weeks, you just can't get enough of a certain product? Kind of like eating Reese's Puff cereal for regularly, but then eating it everyday for breakfast, you just can't get enough of it!!!

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment. You can read my review on it here. I used this again last night. After towel drying, I didn't even use my hair serum, and yet today my hair is super soft, shiney, and frizz free!

Olay Body Quench Body Lotion in Ultra Moisture. I blogged about this yesterday, so you should understand why I'm loving this right now!

Right now, I am alternating St. Ive's Apricot Scrub and St. Ive's Olive Scrub. You can read my review on the apricot scrub here, and for the olive scrub here. (The Olive Scrub review it very old, but I still love it the same. And you can see my view on the apricot scrub has changed!)

Last but not least, I could not do my manis without Seche Clear and Seche Vite. You can read my review on Seche Vite here.

Review: Olay Body Quench Body Lotion Ultra Moisture

First off, I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July for those of you who celebrate. Mine was spent on the lake. I apologize for the lack of posts, the long weekend, as well as company, kept me busy. This post will most likely be my last for the week. Thursday, me and my SO, will be flying out of town to attend a friend's wedding, and we will be gone all weekend!

There are always some products I will buy over and over again. No matter how many times I try something similar I always run back to this one.

Olay Body Quench Body Lotion in Ultra Moisture is my go to lotion, especially in summer. Let me tell you why.

First off, this lotion is the perfect consistency. It's not too thick or thin. There is nothing I hate more than lotion that takes a long time to sink in. But with this, I can apply it and within minutes get dressed and not have that sticky feeling. It moisturizes my skin perfectly. I have very dry skin, but I still don't like heavy lotions for day time. So, if you're someone who hates that lotion-y feel, but need good moisture, check this out.

Second, I LOVE THE SMELL! To me, it smells exactly like Cabbage Patch Dolls. You know what scent I'm talking about. That powder-y, clean, baby smell. I don't even put on perfume or body spray when I wear this, because I love the smell that much. The only turn off is that it is quite strong. So, if you have a sensitive nose, you may not like this. But me, I LOVE it!

Last, there is a bit of shimmer in it. Not disco glitter ball shimmer. It's very fine, and you cannot feel it. Indoors, you don't even notice it, but when you're outside in direct sunlight, you skin will glow like Edward Cullen's. I happen to love it, especially because it makes me feel like I could win Edward over with my beautiful shimmering, diamond like skin!

What I really love is the price. You can purchase this nearly anywhere, from your local drugstore, grocery store, to big chain stores like Walmart and Target, and most likely for under $10, for a huge bottle!

Makeup Tips When You're On The Go

No one likes to have a makeup melt down when they are on the go. Here I list a few tricks to keep you looking tip top even when you're on the run!

Before touching up powder, loose or pressed, always blot your face with a tissue first. If there is no tissue, toilet paper works perfectly as well. This will mop up some oil of your skin so when you apply your powder, you skin doesn't look gunkey or cakey. Using tissue or toilet paper works almost as well as blot papers, and this way you don't have to spend the money on them, or take up space in your purse. Make sure to blot the forehead, around the nose, and chin specifically.
There are a few things everyone should keep in a makeup bag for (makeup) emergency times. See them listed below, with explanations as to why.
Some type or powder, either loose or pressed. I prefer pressed. Loose powders can make a mess. I love MAC's Studio Fix powder because it has medium-full coverage, this way even if my skin isn't looking great, I don't need to deal with liquid foundation. Powder also helps cut down shine as opposed to liquid formulas.
Blush. Blush helps you look more awake and alive! I LOVE CoverGirl's little cheekers in Rose Silk. I have the full size, but the cheekers work perfect since they are much smaller in size. They also come with a tiny brush, it doesn't work great, but you can always blend it with you fingers.
Mascara. Super important. Mascara adds definition to the eyes very quickly, and makes your eyes look more awake. Go with black. This way you don't need to carry an extra liner to add more definition. You all know I LOVE L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in black.
Lipgloss. Something that goes well with anything you have on. Look for a peachy pink shade. They flatter any skin tone. I love MAC's Dazzleglass in Smile.
Tweezers. You never know when you will find a stray hair you need to get rid of! 'Nuff said.
Bobby pins. You can quickly and easily change your hairstyle with a few bobby pins.
Hair elastic. At least 2. You never know when one might break!
Makeup Wipes. Some days, I am just too tired to apply makeup before work. So by afternoon, my skin is not as fresh. So before applying makeup when on the go, wipe the face first with the makeup wipe to refresh the skin. Instead of shelling out the money for individual wipes, just throw a few in a small zip lock bag and keep them in the zipper part of your purse. Makeup wipes can also be used when you get a little sweaty in the summer months to refresh your body. AND with summer comes cute strappy sandals. Which can also mean dirty feet. Use a makeup wipe to wipe off any dirt that gets on your tootsies.
Carry a light moisturizer that is ok for the skin as well as hands and body. There have been numerous times that I'm at work and realize the skin of my cheeks look dry. A pea size amount of a little moisturizer will do the trick. Use it on the hands and body as well to cut down on products your carrying.
If you have your fingers painted, carry that bottle of polish as well. No one likes the look of chips. Just paint a little on the spot that chips, and you're good to until you get home to fully repair it.
Tide To Go. Just buy it. You never know when you will have a spill. These take out almost anything off clothes. Coffee, makeup, food, etc. You get the point.

I know these things sound like alot, but they aren't. I carry a small makeup bag in my medium sized purse with plenty of room to spare. If you break it down, its only 11 products, but small ones at that. Always look for mini sizes of any of these products. I love the travel section of most big box stores. These products will come in super handy whenever you need them!

2. Favorite brand of Make Up: Of course I'm going to say MAC.

3. Favorite flower: Tulips without a doubt.

4. Favorite clothing store: Hmm, I shop alot at A&E, Aero, and Pacsun. But I wouldn't say they are my favorite. Lol

5. Favorite perfume: Hollister (can't remember which one) and my Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom body mist. I wear that more often because I'm just about out of my Hollister one.

6. Heels or Flats: I LOVE heels, but I am almost always in flip flops.

7. Do you make good grades: I'm not in school, but I made crappy grades in school because I never did any of my work, but it's not because I'm not smart, I just hated school.

8. Favorite colours: GREEEEEEEN!

9. Do you drink energy drinks: No, I like Red Bull, but I don't drink it. It is way too expensvie.

10. Do you drink juice: On occasion. I LOVEEE orange juice, but I always forget it is in the fridge. But I try to stay away from juice because it has too many calories and sugar.

11. Do you like swimming: LOVE swimming!

Review: Venus Breeze Razor

With summer comes lots of shaving. And let me tell you, I HATE SHAVING. Don't get me wrong, I do shave regularly, but I dread it every time I jump in the shower. After a few minutes, you have to re-direct the shower head so the water doesn't hit your legs, bust out the shave cream, open it, squirt some out, spread it on the legs, close the shave cream, reach for the razor without getting your leg wet, keep your leg propped up, shave, rinse, repeat on every other hairy part of your body. You all know the drill.

So let me tell you how relieved I was when I saw this new(er) Venus Breeze razor stocked on my local Walmart shelves. I have always been a huge fan of Venus, and figured I'd give this particular one a go.

What I love about this razor is the fact that its a razor and shave gel in one. So when its time to shave, you make sure your leg/skin is nice and wet, wet the razor, and get to shaving. And, you don't have to worry about your leg/skin getting wet while shaving it, because the extra water actually helps! No more one legged standing, hoping not to slip and fall, and cutting yourself.

What I don't like is that the strips that are the shave gel don't last super long. If I shave my underarms daily, (which I do), and my legs every other day, the strips dont last much more than I'd say 10 or so uses. Which techinically isn't horrible for a disposable razor. But, you can still use the razor once the shave gel strips wear down as long as the blades are still sharp, you just have to use a shave cream.

The strips do get slightly gooey once in use, but I actually like that. I saw some people review this saying they don't like how they get gooey, but its more of a slick feeling than gooey. Its not thick, but there is a definite slickness from the strips. It rinses right off though.

So, if you're like me and dread the shaving ritual, scoop this baby up and give it a try. You're sure to fall in love like I did!

Orgasm Cosmetics: Review and Swatches

Have you ever purchased something from a company that's new to you? You always worry about customer service, shipping, and most of all the quality of the product. With Orgasm Cosmetics, I worried about none of them! I was floored with the customer service, their quick responses. The shipping was super fast. And best of all, the quality of the products are TOP NOTCH!

Orgasm Cosmetics is a newer company from what I can tell. Right now, they carry an array of nail polish colors and finishes. Soon, they will carry different lines for eyes, lips, face, hair, and skin. You can check out their site at www.orgasm.fm.

But more specifically, let's talk about their polishes. For a new company, they have nailed (no pun intended) their formula! I was so thrilled with these. I was surprised to see that I didn't have to load my brush up with as much polish as other brands. They went on buttery smooth. They seem to dry fairly quick on their own, but I always top my polishes with Seche Vite.

The names of these polishes make me almost as happy as the formula! Some are silly and quirky and others are a bit more risque! Some may be put off by some of the names (Dripping Wet), but I find them hilarious and they make me want to choose the polish for my manis just by name!

Here are the swatches of the colors I bought.
Voluptuous is such a beautiful red. I would describe this as more of a rasberry red since it has slight hints of pink to it. Indoors, the polish is a deepened red. Not wine red, but deeper than your typical red. Outside, this baby shines with hints of pink and gold! I will definitely be reaching for this all summer long for my manis and pedis!

Dripping Wet. Vampy purple with slight hints of blue and red shimmer. This color is super hard to capture, and this picture does it NO justice. Indoors, this color still shines with hints of blue. Outside it glows from within with red and blue undertones.

Afternoon Delight. MY FAVORITE of the bunch! I love green. Its my favorite color. I have always said my favorite green is grass green, and not I have that in a nail polish. This polish is SO pigmented, that is only ONE coat! The picture makes it appear more teal, but this baby is super green. Bright, but not neon! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Not Even Close! How cute is this name? I love this lilac purple. Its like a deeper lilac indoors. Outside, this baby shines and shimmers with hints of blue. The picture again does this no justice.

Easy, But Not Cheap. Again, super cute name! This swatch shows 2 coats, but as you can see, there is visible tip. A third coat solves that problem. This color is so hard to describe. Its like a jelly/cream. I was expecting more of a mint green, but this color is like glow in the dark green, like those stars people used to stick on their ceiling (you know what ones I'm talking about) but with the light still on! This color is so fun and unique!

Mascara Comparisons and Reviews

When it comes to mascara, I'm all about cheap prices for great quality! Today I am going to compare and review some of the mascaras I use on a regular basis. The pictures show the mascara on my top lashes only (except for one in which I was wearing that day). All swatches are ONE COAT.

Here is my bare eye. There is a little liner still left of my upper lash line. As you can see, my lashes are naturally pretty thick, and they have decent length, but the tips are super blonde.

MAC Zoom Lash. The wand on this is pretty tiny. Not as tiny as some, but tinier than most. There is a rather strong scent to this mascara. It doesnt smell bad, but it is very apparent. I actually like the brush because the tip is the skinniest so it really gets the lashes in my inner corners and is doesnt clump. At one coat, this mascara gives good definition and length, but doesnt thicken much. At 2 coats, it thickens more and gives more drama. What I dont like is that this mascara seems to take a long time to dry/set, and if your eyes tear or get wet at all, the mascara smudges like crazy and never dries again.
Lumene Blueberyy Curl Mascara. This is one of my new favorite mascaras. It can be purchased as CVS drugstores as far as I know. (I won this in a giveaway.) As you can see, it really did curl my lashes. At one coat, this is not one of the darkest mascaras, but at 2 coats, it is much darker. The brush on this is very different. It has those spikey type bristles like Covergirl Lashblast, but the wand is MUCH smaller and shaped different which I prefer. I got no clumping and it seperated and lengthened my lashes nicely. There is a slight scent like most mascaras, but I didnt notice it until I puposely smelled it to see if there was one.
Cover Girl Lashblast. The HG for some. Im on the fence with this. This particular one is waterproof, so the formula is slightly different than the original. I use this mostly because it is waterproof when I need it, but its not my favorite. The wand is really big, and the spikey bristles are very short so it sort of pokes my lash line. It does seem to thicken, but it doesnt add much length.
Loreal Voluminous. This is my HG mascara, this is only one coat, and you can see how full it makes me lashes. It adds tons of length and is super dark. At 2 coats, I have that false lash look that I love. Many times, when I do smokey eyes, my lashes sort of disappear because my shadow is so overpowering, but not when I put this mascara on. I have been using this mascara for 6 years and will continue to use it for years ahead!

Review: LAVANILA The Healthy Body Butter

If you are always on the hunt for a great moisturizer that doesn't leave your skin greasy, than I have a treat for you. Cue in LAVANILA's The Healthy Body Butter. I recieved this from Sephora as one of my deluxe samples, so I have this in the 1oz size. I have this in vanilla coconut, but there are 4 scents to chose from:

Vanilla Lavender
Vanilla Coconut
Vanilla Grapefruit
Pure Vanilla

Price:

$25 for 8.5 oz. As a body lotion, the price is a bit steep, but if something works really well, for some the price is worth it.

Scent:

As stated above, I received the vanilla coconut scent which I LOVE! I love anything coconut-y and beachy, and this scent is just that. The vanilla really mixes well and helps soothe the scent to keep it mellow. The scent is not overpowering or strong and lingers nicely on the skin after applied.

Texture/Feel:

This is called a body butter, but its not in a tub like most body butters are. It is between a body butter and lotion in my opinion. I like that it isn't super thick like a body butter, because I can use it on my hands and not feel greasy or slippery like I can't pick up my pen! The vanilla coconut one is an off white color, which I assume the other scents are as well.

Review: Naked Desserts Bubble Bars

Move over LUSH, Naked Desserts just took the lead!!

I heard about Naked Desserts after watching a youtube review by juicystar07. This review will have separate parts. Today, I will review for you the bubble bars. You all know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVEEE Lush's bubble bars, so it only made sense to buy all the bubble bars from Naked Desserts.

Cotton Candy Bubble Bar:

Excuse the fact that it seems all crushed up. I cut it up into 4 peices for ease of use. I only use 1/4 in each bath. This bubble bar smells UH-MAY-ZING! It doesnt have that fake cotton candy yucky scent, it just smells so good I want to eat it! It has a definite sweetness to it, but again, not fake and sickeningly chemically sweet. More like a fresh dessert. Bubbles were just as great as LUSH's bubble bars and the water had that slippery feel to it as well! This is most definitely my favorite one by Naked Desserts!

Pink Lemonade Bubble Bar:

How cute is this bubble bar? All covered in sprinkles! This smells exactly like it sounds, pink lemonade.

The Weekender Bubble Bar:

This bubble bar is supposed to be a dupe of LUSH's The Comforter Bubble Bar. And you all know how much I LOVEE LUSH's The Comforter.
When I first received the package, I immediately grabbed this baby and started to sniff. From memory, this bubble bar DID smell just like The Comforter, so I was thrilled. When I got home, I compared the 2. There is a super similarity, but they arent exactly the same, but seriously, close enough! I can't wait to use this one!

For My Curly Haired Girls!

I always hated my curly hair. Throughout middle school, and early highschool, you ALWAYS saw me with my hair up in a messy bun. I NEVER wore my hair down. I hated my curly hair and always wished I had long straight hair. In my sophmore year of highschool, I started straightening my hair. And if it wasnt straight, it was up in a messy bun. Now that I'm 22, I have embraced my curl. There are certain things us curly haired girls need to do to keep our curls in tip top shape.
Here are some tips:

MOISTURIZE! I cannot stress this enough. Curly hair is naturally drier. Look not only for moisturizing conditioners, but also moisturizing shampoos. Lately, I have really liked Organix Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner. If you feel like your hair is getting build up from the heavy(er) products, use a clarfiying shampoo MIXED with your regualr shampoo. Mix a little in your hand with your regular shampoo before lathering into hair. This will remove some build up, but not be as harsh as using it on its own. Do NOT using a clarifying shampoo more than once a week- 2 weeks.
DO weekly deep conditioning treatments. I LOVEEEE Ojon's Resorative Hair Treatment. You can read my review on it here.
On top of weekly deep conditioning treatments, I really like to use a deep conditioner in the shower. I really love BioInfusions Hydrating Hair Balm. You can read my review on it here. I like to use this 2 times a week.
Only brush your hair IF you have to. With my curls, I have to brush my hair everytime I shower. My hair gets knotty really easily. If you have to brush your hair, ONLY do it when its WET. Brushing it when its dry will make it frizzy and poofy. And undo all your pretty curls.
Use a hair serum. Hair serums help fight frizz, make hair shinier, and help in the brushing process.I LOVE Chi's Silk Infusion. you can read my review on it here.
When towel drying hair, DO NOT try and shake the towel over the hair. What I do is wrap my hair after I wring it out. After I get dressed and take my hair out of the towel, if it is still too damp I SCRUNCH the excess water out. Trying to "towel dry" it, will result in frizzy hair.

Styling curly hair is one of the reasons I have embraced my natural curl. Everyone knows how long blow drying and flat ironing takes, just for all that work to be thrown out the window as soon as I wash my hair.

Look at curling creams with a bit of a hold. Curling creams will not make the hair crunchy. I have only used one styling cream, but it was a long time ago and I don't even remember which one it is. Some people love curling creams, and others dont. I like a little more hold.
Use mousse! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tresseme's flawless curls mousse. I have been using this mousse for years and it never fails me.
Mix your hair serum with your mousse. This gives the same hold from the mousse but makes the hair even more touchable and uncrunchy. There is NOTHING worse than crunchy curls.
Scrunch the poduct in your hair, starting in the back. I used to try and run the mousse throughout my whole head, but just scrunching the product into the hair gives enough product and hold without weighing down the curls.
Use a diffuser or let hair air dry. If you hate leaving the house with damp hair, make sure you use a diffuser on your hair dryer. Never just use the hair dryer without it, or you will get frizzy curls. When using a dryer and diffuzer, only dry the hair 80% and let the last 20% air dry. This will keep hair from getting frizzy.
If you want to relax the curl a bit, after applying product section your hair in half at the temples. Clip the top half up and section the bottom half into 2 section, like you are going to make pigtails. Either loosley braid them, or twist and wrap in a loose bun. Do this with the top half as well. Leave in at least 30 minutes or leave them in overnight. This will help relax the curl a bit.

Here is my routine:

Shampoo and Condition
Wrap hair in towel
Take hair out of towel
Apply Chi Silk Infusion
Comb hair
Apply mousse
And Im out the door. On occasion I will dry/diffuze my hair, but only if Im going out.

Styling my hair take less than 5 minutes. So all you curly haired ladies, EMBRACE YOUR CURL, and make sure to take care of it!

LUSH Review: Bathos Bubble Bar

LUSH keeps me coming back only because of their amazing bubble bars. I love these little guys, and will continue to take luxurious baths for as long as my wallet will allow me!

Scent:

LUSH describes the scent of this as jasmine and violet. With the 2 mixed together, its hard to detect these scents on their own, but wrapped all in one, they make a super relaxing bath that I could soak in for hours (granted the water doesnt get too cold). In dry bar form, the scent is super strong. I use half of this bubble bar (as it is much smaller than The Comforter) per bath. Once crumbled into the bath, and turned into a bubble bath, the smell if much more faint, but still apparent enough to soothe me after a long day.

What I loved about this bubble bar was that it turned my water purple. But a clear purple, not a milky color. With The Comforter, the white and pink bar turned my bath a milky pink, but Bathos just turned my bath into a water down grape juice color! I love it!

Texture/Feel:

The texture of a bubble bar is like a soft clay. It holds its form, but is pliable. Once broken up, this bubble bar didnt seem as moist as The Comforter which helped in breaking it up enough so I had no clumps in the tub. Bathos gave the water a SUPER slippery feel which was lovely for my skin. But be careful when stepping into your tub as it does make the floor of the tub slippery.

As with all of LUSH's bubble bars, I had a tub FULL of foam-y bubbles that lasted the duration of my soak.

What I really love about the bubble bars is they leave no residue once the tub is drained. After I take a bath, I typically will drain the tub and then run the shower and rinse my body off and that is more than enough to rinse away the tub clean.

If you're not into super sweet scents, check out Bathos. It will give you ton of bubbles, relaxing scent, and softer skin!

Sephora by OPI swatches

Sephora by OPI in IM Beauty. I was expecting a more buttery yellow, and this is definitely more lemon-y. Still a great color, but I may layer it over white, or franken a polish with this and some white creme. This was considered a cream, but its slightly jelly-ish to me. A good color none the less, but not what I was expecting. BUT for a yellow, and only 3 coats, still wet, its not bad formula wise like most yellows.

Sephora by OPI in Metro Chic. LOVE LOVE LOVE. completely opaque in 2 coats. Although its more of a fall color, I will totally be rocking this color year round! May be just slightly deeper in real life, but the photo is pretty dead on. (haha and yes, i am covering my horribly sloppy paint job that I rushed to take this pic! lol)

At 5 o'clock Friday evenings, I shut down my computer and don't start it back up until Monday morning at 8:30am. For me, it is my time to enjoy my weekend and actually get stuff done. Review: Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

There are times as a beauty fanatic when I cannot contain my excitement over a product. You order it online, pay extra moo-lah for speedy shipping, rip the box open, and test the product right then and there. Okay, so sometimes your boss doesn't like the site of you testing beauty products at work, so you MUST wait to get home to try it, but you secretly play with it at your desk. That product is Ojon's Restorative Hair Treatment. The most amazing product I've ever gotten my hands on.

What is it:

In a nutshell (no pun intended), this product is a HIGHLY concentrated oil that is meant to be used as a deep conditioning treatment, a de-frizzer, or a shine enhancer. This product can also be used on the body to ultra hyrdate those rough, dry areas.

Scent: Its hard to describe. When I first opened the package, my intial thought was coffee or espresso. After taking a small amount into my hands and warming it into a liquid oil, there is a smokey-ness to it. Not a cigarette, ive been in a smokey bar all night, smokey, but definitely a smokey smell to it followed with hints of floral. I personally love this scent, coffee, smokey, floral all rolled in one. Even after shampooing and conditioning, I can still smell the scent. So I prefer to wash and condition my hair with something that mixes well with the scent. Typically something that smells of shea butter.

Feel/Texture:

The texture of this is a hard oil in the container. After scooping a TINY (size of a peice of rice) onto my finger tips and melting it, its a very lightweight oil. Not thick like olive oil, but very light and thin.

How to use:

As a restorative treatment: I section my hair off like when I flat iron it. Starting with the bottome section, I warm the size of about a pea into my hand and spread it through the hair shaft and ends of the section working my way up to the roots. I continue this process until all sections of my hair are coated evenly. I brush it through my hair to distribute it evenly. Then I treat myself to a 1-2 minutes scalp massage (as per the directions). I pull my hair up into a messy bun or clip, and let it sit as long as I have. I usually do this after work, or on a saturday so it can sit for a few hours until I wash it out. To wash it out, rinse with warm water, then shampoo and condition as usual. Style as desired.

As a leave-in conditioner: warm a small amount in hands and distribute evenly through damp hair. Style as usual.

As a shine enhancer: Warm a small amount (the size of a grain of rice) in hands and smooth over the surface of dry hair.

After work yesterday, I used this as a hair restorative treatment. After letting it work its magic in my hair for about 4 hours, I hopped in the shower and shampoo and conditioned my hair as usual. I decided to see how this stuff really worked by blow drying and flat ironing my hair (which I havent done in ages!). I used my typical Chi Silk Infusion, and a new heat protectant (review to come) as usual, but my hair looked SO different. It literally felt so much stronger and resiliant. Typically, when I blow dry my hair, it looks like a bird nest, but after using this product it blow dried much smoother and less frizzy. If I was good with a round brush and had more patience, I could have gotten away without flat ironing. But alas, I busted out the flat iron and did my thing. My hair is so smooth and shiney and feel super strong. It smells amazing, and looks just as awesome.

I have used this product 2 times now as a deep treatment and could not be any happier with it.

When you purchase it, it comes with a pamphlet to explain everything about the product(which I though was really cool) with complete directions on the many uses.

If you dont want to fork over the $21 for the small container( which is what I purchased and plan to have a very long time) pop your head into Sephora and see if you can snap up a sample. You wont regret it!

All About Primers

Before I get to my post, REMEMBER I'M HAVING A CONTEST! DETAILS HERE!

I get asked many times "What are primers?", "What do they do?", "How do I use them?", "Which primer is best?". So, I decided to compile a list of the primers I've tried, and which ones I feel are best. A primer works just like wall primers for painting. It lays down an even base by smoothing the skin, minimizing pores, and some even help fill in wrinkles. Primers also help your foundation to last longer throughout the day so you dont need as many touchups. Some are made specifically for people with oily skin to keep the shine at bay.

Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer:

$12.99 from www.drugstore.com . This primer's consistency is like a very thick, clear gel. I use about 2 pea size amounts for my entire face. This primer is one of the lighter ones in term of feel. When I start to spread it on my face, it feels very light. This primer gives my skin a very soft feel. I wouldn't say this is the BEST primer, but it works fairly well and is a good alternative to more expensive varieties. What I dont like about this primer is the smell. It has a very strong perfume scent that is a bit over powering. Although it fades, those with sensitive noses may want to reconsider this product.

Smashbox Photo Finish Light: This primer is my favorite compared to the original (review below). This primer is made specifically for people with acne/oily prone skin, as well as those with sensitive skin. This primer is not your typical gel/silicone feel. It is much lighter and looks and feels more like a lotion. I use 2 pumps for my whole face which I feel is a bit much to have to use especially for the price. $36 for 1 oz. But, I do love the pump bottle. In terms of how well this one performs, it does but not as well as the original. I think its beacuse its 60% water based, so it doesnt have as much silicone in it as the original. This is the one I use most often, but I try to use it sparingly due to the price.

Smashbox Photo Finish (original):

Just like the Light version, this is $36 for 1oz. It comes in a nice pump bottle. I needed to use about 2 pumps as well to feel I had an even cover on my face. This primer is definitly more gel like. It has a slippery feel due to the silicone in it. This primer is definitly one of the best I;ve tried in terms of how it performed, but it broke my skin out really bad. That is why I switched to the Light verision.

Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel:
$7.99 for 1.5oz. This product is an almost an exact dupe for the original Smashbox Primer at a much cheaper price. The active ingredients are the same. The huge difference is the price. In that case this is the winner. It performed just as well as the more expensive alternative, but again after 2 months of use, I had a major breakout due to this.

If I had to choose my top primer, It would be the Smashbox Photo Finish Light. On days I dont use that one, I use the Revlon one.

When it comes to primers, I think the best advice I can give is to GET SAMPLES! Everyone has different needs: dry skin, oily skin, wrinkles etc. So what works for some, may not work for you!

LUSH Review: Porridge, Karma, and Ginger Soaps

Happy Monday Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. My family and my hunny's family went on a hike to a waterfall and then for a picnic. We had a blast!

Today's reviews are going to be a bit different from how I typically do reviews. I want to give you all my overall opinion on LUSH's soaps, then I will give a short review on each soap.

Let me explain first that, when it comes to soap, I prefer that clean soap smell. Dove soap is my favorite soap. Its the only soap that doesnt leave that squeaky feeling on my skin. I love how it has that clean fresh scent. That is a scent I prefer for soap. In my opinion, if I want to smell flowery, or fruity, I will just use perfume for that. But in my opinion, soap should just smell clean and fresh. So overall, I dont care for the scent of LUSH's soaps. And not because they smell bad (well some do) but I just dont think of "soap" when I smell them.

Also, when it comes to price, they are expensive in my opinion. Like I stated in my other LUSH soap review, a standard LUSH soap is 3.5 oz. Although they look much larger online, they are just a hair bigger than a normal bar of soap. (Dove soap is 3.15oz). LUSH's cheapest soap is $5.40, most expensive $11.95, for one bar/block. Whereas, I can buy a 6 pack of Dove soap for around $6.oo. I know for some, LUSH's soaps are a luxury item, as they are for me as well, but a bar of soap doesnt scream LUXURY to me! When it comes to LUSH's products, I'd much rather buy there bubble bars if I want a luxurious feeling bath.

Now, don't think I'm saying DONT BUY LUSH'S SOAPS, but for me, I wont. Mainly because I havent found a LUSH scent I'm crazy about, and the price is just too steep for me.

Onto the individual reviews:

Porridge Soap: $5.95 for 3.5oz. LUSH describes this as smelling like molasses, and although i'm not exactly sure what molasses smells like, I dont like this soap. I was SUPER disappointed when I recieved this soap. I LOVE oatmeal and oatmeal scented products. But this doesnt smell at all like oats. Honestly, its a little weird. I'm not sure if I can actually use this in a shower, but I used it to wash my hands and didnt care for it at all.

Karma Soap: $7.95 for 3.5 So far, this is my favorite soap by LUSH. It has an orange-y citrus smell to it, but its mellowed out by the patchouli, which is slightly woodsy. I really like this scent, and it lingered on my skin all day. I think this scent would make a great candle.
Ginger Soap: $10.95 for 3.5 oz. This scent was very strong, but really lovely. It has jasmine, rose, and ginger in it. Its floral, and spicey at the same time. This is out of stock online as it was limited, but I received a sample. This scent definitely lingered and smelled like I was wearing perfume.

All in all, LUSH's soaps are hit and miss for me. I do enjoy some of the scents, but as a soap, they just dont do it for me.

LUSH Review: Honey I Washed The Kids Soap

As a LUSH bestseller, rave reviews online, and my love for the scent of honey, I knew I had to include this is my next LUSH order.

Price/Size:

$7.95 for 3.5 oz. In my opinion, I find LUSH's soaps to be a bit on the expensive side in turns of soap. I can buy a 6 pack of Dove soap for $6.88. In terms of size, a bar of Dove soap is 3.15 oz. So although LUSH's soaps look big online, they are not much larger than a typical bar of soap.

Scent:

The scent of this is hard to explain. When I hear "honey" I assume the product is going to smell like honey, like my Burt's Bees honey Lip Balm (which I can't leave home without), so I was so excited to have that scent linger on my body. WRONG. I really can't pinpoint the scent, it's hard to explain. LUSH claims there are hints of bergamot and orange, but I cannot detect these hints. There is a SLIGHT sweetness to this soap, but then there is just a wierdness about the rest of it. I have come to know many of LUSH's scents smell different once "in use", so I cut off a teeny peice and brought it to my bathroom to wash my hands with it. Again, the smell didnt change. This isnt a scent I care for, but luckily the scent is faint and didn't linger on my hands.

Lather:

This soap did lather more than other soaps by LUSH that I have tried. It did seem to moisturize better than other LUSH soaps as well. Also, the soaps I have tried by LUSH give me that dry/squeaky clean feeling that I HATE, but this soap didnt seem to do that which was good.

Overall:

This is not a soap I will re-purchase. I dont care for the scent much, and for me, LUSH's soaps are overpriced. If you can, definitely go to a LUSH store and smell the soaps before you purchase them if you are able to. Unfortunately for me, I have no LUSH within hundreds of miles.

LUSH Review: The Comforter Bubble Bar

Out of my LUSH haul, this was the only product that really wowed me. (Reviews to come later on the other products) Honestly, from what I've experienced, LUSH is more of a novelty thing. People expect to love everything because its from LUSH. For me, most of my expectations have not been met. On to the review.

Price:

$8.75 for 7 oz. This product was much larger than expected. I should be able to use this bar at least 3 times. Although thats about $2.92 per bath, its more a luxury type item, and wouldnt be used every bath.

Texture/Color/Bubbles:

I expected this product to be harder, but it wasnt. It was the texture of semi dried clay, but not as crumbly. Once crumbled into the bath, its melts and turned the bath water into a luxurious spa. It turns the bath water light pink (darker if you use more product) and the bubbles have a slight hint of pink to them. The Comforter turns the bath water almost slippery feeling, which made me feel that is was a bit moisturizing. The bubbles are super thick. You know when you try to use cheap shampoo to make a bubble bath? The bubbles are actual bubbles and pop quickly. With The Comforter, the bubbles are super fluffy. It also made a ton of bubbles. I would say I still had 2/3's of the bubbles left at the end of my 15 minute soak. It was lovely and relaxing.

Smell:

This was my favorite scent from LUSH that my nose has sniffed thus far. Its sweet but not overpowering in bar form. Once crumbled into the bath water, it was much fainter but still apparent. I would say the scent would linger on the skin if you didnt wash with another soap. It was slightly sweet, but not sickening like Rockstar soap. I really enjoyed this scent.

Overall:

This is probably the ONLY product I would repurchase that I have tried so far (except for Imperialis Moisturizer). It made a wonderful bath for me that was very relaxing. The scent was lovely, the bubbles were fun, and for a treat to myself, I will likely stock up on this.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Married? Kids? What do you do for a living?

Well, my first name is Stephanie and I am someone’s Mrs. and 2 little people’s mommy. My daughter is 3 and my son is 7 months. I am a stay-at-home mom who sells baby gifts and does makeup gigs (mostly bridal and local music vids.) I don’t actively seek makeup jobs, but I probably should since I need to support this makeup habit of mine somehow. I’m so busy with the 2 kids!

Have you always been this into makeup? Or was it a gradual thing?

I have always been this into makeup, for sure. I remember always getting in trouble from a young age (starting at 3-4) for applying makeup on my dolls and stuffed animals using anything I could get my hands on…paints, crayons, felts, my mom’s makeup (I always got in extra trouble for that!) I started giving makeovers at the tender age of 6, so this is something I’ve always been interested/obsessed with.

Who taught you how to apply makeup? Did a female family member ever give you any tips? Or completely self taught?

I taught myself how to apply makeup for the most part, but I did take some makeup courses about 2 years ago to learn all those tips and tricks I didn’t know (like sanitizing and skin types) and the business side of things.

If you were stranded alone on a deserted island, what 3 items would you bring? (can be non-beauty related) What about being stranded in Alaska in winter?

On a deserted island I would bring Carmex lip balm, sunscreen and a gazillion magazines. In Alaska in the winter I would bring Carmex lip balm again, my ipod and my asthma inhaler (dorky I know, but the cold air makes it hard for me to breathe!)

If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be? (if it was promised that you wouldn’t gain any weight Lol)

Oooh, definitely the calamari dinner from my fave Greek restaurant! Sooooo good. Crispy calamari on top of a bed of rice, roast potatoes, a ton of greek salad and tzatziki. Mm, I’m drooling just thinking about it! Oh and since I’m picky and this is my fantasy, I’d make sure there were no tentacles cuz they really creep me out (o_O)

Do you have a favorite color(s)? Do you apply that to your makeup?

My favourite colour is purple closely followed by pink and yes it totally applies to makeup. I wouldn’t say purple is my favourite colour to wear necessarily, but I’m always drawn to purple eye shadows & lipsticks. I have more purple eye shadows than what I know what to do with. And pink lippies are my fave!

Is there one makeup “fad” you never jumped on the bandwagon? Why?

Hm, I’d have to say the dark lip liner and pale lipstick. It just was never my style, thank goodness. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s fine in print or runway, but not everyday life.

Other than makeup, do you have any other hobbies?

I don’t have a lot of time for hobbies these days unfortunately, but I used to love to dance. I took ballet when I was younger and I was captain of my high school dance squad (what a nerd!) and I loved taking dance classes, but I haven’t done it in ages. I miss that…

It seems nail stuff is hitting the internet beauty world hardcore, nail blogs everywhere are popping up! Are you also really into nails?

Not as much as I have been in the past, but yes. I always have my nails painted. Actually I wanted to take a nail course a little bit ago, but never found the time or extra cash (it’s super expensive!)

If you could give young girls around the world ONE beauty tip, what would it be?

Blend blend blend. I say this all the time and I’ll never get tired of saying it. I can’t stand seeing hard lines in eye shadows, on cheeks, contours, foundation lines on the jaw. Yikes! That and have fun with makeup, there are no rules!

Summer Beauty Must Haves

With the warm weather comes different beauty products that we need to have, while others are just to heavy for summer. Its time to put away all of those liquid and cream products and brake out those summer must haves. Not sure what to have on hand for those hot, humid, summer months? Well here are some of MY must haves (in no particular order).MAC Shroom Eyeshadow. I love this satin finished neautral shade because it is a perfect everday highlight when I'm in no mood for full out eyeshadow, and gives a great glow to the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and shoulders.

Hershey's Almond Lip Balm. Purchased at Sephora. If you like the scent of almond, you would LOVE this lipbalm! Its super light and hydrating, and contains SPF15.

Covergirl Classic Color in Rose Silk. My HG blush. Ive had this blush for YEARS and it is STILL my favorite. Rosy pink with a very fine shimmer that gives cheeks amazing glow. I love to use this to brighten up my face when I've had a long day on the water.

LUSH's Imperialis Moisturizer. You can read my review on it here.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation. During the fall and winter, I am attached to my Studio Fix Fluid, but let's be honest, its WAY to heavy for summer. I LOVE this pressed powder foundation because it gives medium-full coverage (depending on the brush you use), yet still feels light as air on the skin.

Loreal Voluminous Mascara. Again, another HG product of mine. Like I said before, there are times during the summer where I can't even think of doing full eye makeup, so after my wash of highlight of Shroom eyeshadow, I love to finish off my eyes with a nice coat of this mascara. It gives me that false lash look and doesnt flake.

Bobbi Brown Powder Brush. I was lemming over this brush for months at my CCO. And I am so glad I bought it. This brush applies blush beautifully, and I love to use to apply my bronzer as well. It also works when I want to do a quick contour.

MAC Fix+ . MAC describes it as a refreshing mist or finishing spray. I love to use this with my Studio Fix. After I tap my brush on top of my powder foundation, I spritz this from a distance onto my brush, and it gets rid of that "powdery" look. I also like to use this as a finishing spray or to just mist myself on a hot, humid, summer day.

MAC 185 brush. This brush is so dense yet soft. Because of how dense it is, it gives me full coverage, yet buffs it out so quickly. I don't know what I did before this brush!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had an awesome weekend!
It was so beautiful this weekend, but really hot. Here i am complaining about the hot when i was complaining about the cold winter. Lol. It was in the high 80s all weekend!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! Im Super excited for this weekend because it is going to be beautiful and sunny and in the high 70s, low 80s so im syked! Im dragging this morning. Me, my SO, my brother, and a friend went to our local rib and wing fest last night and then to a karoake bar. Im pooped, and would love to be back in bed, but we had a blast!

Brow Tutorial

Hey everyone! I did a brow tutorial for you guys! For tutorial purposes, I used a MUCH darker color than i typically do. Although it doesnt look SUUUPER dark in pictures, it was very dark in real life.
On to the tutorial.

First, I start with a bare brow. Ive plucked as many stray hairs as I could see. (It was night time, so I was just trying to clean them up for this tutorial) As you can see, my brows are pretty full and have a decent shape. (this picture actually washes it out a bit, as well as the angle as they look more bare here than usual lol.) I just really prefer a more dominant/stronger brow.

Then using a thin stiff brush (MAC 212), i pick up some eyebrow powder on the tip of the brush.

Then, I draw a line from the inner bottom corner all the way to my arch.

I also draw a line on the top from the top inner corner to the arch.

Then i dab the brush vertically between the two lines to connect them.

Using a stiff angled brush (sephora brow brush) I pick up more brow powder.

and i fill in the rest of the brow, including the tail. While im doing this, i also go ahead and soften the "box" i initially made outlining the brow inner edge.

Using the same brush i used to make the ouline on my brow (MAC 212) i dip into a concealor a shade lighter than my skin tone.

I draw a line under the entire brow with the concealor. This will highlight the brow and make it appear stronger, and also helps hide any stray hairs.

I blend the concealor down using the same brush. I also use the remaining concealor on the brush and run it along the top side of the brow.

LUSH Review: Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser

For the last few weeks, I have been using Angels on Bare Skin by LUSH. Now I havent used it religiously morning and night everyday. But I have used enough to give a fairly thorough review.

Price:

Fairly decent in my opinion. $9.95 for 3.5 oz.

Texture/Look/Smell:

First off, I have watched many reviews on youtube and such and have seen this product look differently. Mine looks NOTHING like the picture (curtesy of www.lush.com). Mine does not have those bigger dark chunks in it. Also, mine came in one of LUSH's little black tubs with the screw off cap. I have seen some people get theirs in clear plastic containers. Either way, it is the same product. Mine does not have any big exfoliating chunks in it like you see in the picture. The texture of this is basically like a gritty clay. The smell is very herbal but not overpowering. I like it very much and the smell fades fairly quickly once rinsing it off. This product does have oil in it. And while spreading across my face, I can feel the oil. But once I rinse it off and pat my face dry, my skin just feel moisturized, and not oily.

How I Use it:

I take a little more than a pea size amount and place it in my palm. with my other hand, I dampen my face with warm water. Then, I let some of the water drip off my fingers onto the product in my palm. You dont need alot of water to get this stuff working. I would say about 5 drops all together. Then i spread it on my face and massage it aound in circular motions. Then i rinse, and pat my skin dry. I then follow with my toner (witch hazel) and moisturizer.

Overall:

I do really like this cleanser, but I cant speak for if it has helped clear my skin up like some people claim. But it does make my skin super soft and brightens up my skin. I wouldnt really recommend this product to people who have very oily skin. It does exfoliate, but I feel it is just fine for everyday use and isnt overly abrasive.

Makeup Tips, Tricks, and Organization

Good Thursday morning followers! Today I wanted to do something a little different and give you all some tips and tricks to make your life easier and faster when it comes to applying makeup.

GET ORGANIZED! That means something different for everybody. For me, I like to keep everything within arms reach. So a traincase is not very handy for me. I bought an organizer from target that sits on my vanity. You can see it here. This way, everything is out and in eyes/arms reach.
Once you decide what makeup you want to use, get it layed out and ready to use. For me, when I know I am going to be using 2 different palettes, I take them both out and open them so they are ready to be dipped into as soon as I need it. This way im not searching for palettes, opening them, and looking for the shadow I want to use next.
USE PALETTES! Yes, they cost money, but you can find them for a decent price from many retailers. I have the original 15 pan palettes from Coastal Scents, but they now make magnetized ones as well. Palettes house all your shadows so you dont have to deal with organizing and finding a single eyeshadow when you need it.
Use tape. I know some people dont like using tape and dont like the harsh line it causes, but it really makes applying eyeshadow much faster. Place a small piece of regular scotch tape from the corner of your eye to the outer tip of the tail of your brow. When you are done applying your eyeshadow, gently peel it off to show a nice clean line that ends exactly where it "should". Dont like the harsh line? Simple. Lightly blend it out with your finger or a blending brush.
Keep towels handy. Paper towels cost money and cause alot of waste product. Instead buy cheap towels. I get mine in the dollar section at target. They are hand towels with a light texture to them. I fold them up, use a side, when that side gets dirty, flip it to a clean side. When the whole towel is dirty, I toss it in the wash and use a new clean one. (I buy the white ones. Yes they get stained and never look perfect again, but thats ok, as long as I know they are clean.) This helps me in so many ways. Say for a look im using the 239 brush for more than one color, I just swipe my brush across the towel to get rid of excess color before I dip into a new color.
Apply your highlight color last. I know some people prefer to do it first, butttttttt, applying the highlight color last lets you control the height of the crease/lid color and lets you fix mistakes. Say I apply my crease color too high, instead of having to try and fix it with more color, you can just apply your highlight and blend down. It helps tone down the crease color if you went up to high.
Like the light feeling of powder foundation but hate how it just sits on top of your skin and looks, well, powdery. Easy. Lightly spritz your brush with some Fix+ before buffing it into the skin. This helps the powder sink into the skin better and gets rid of that powdery look. I like to take my 181 and bounce it on my studio fix powder. Once I have the desired amount of product on my brush, I hold my brush a foot or so away from the Fix+ bottle and spritz the brush with only about half a spray. I dont want the brush to get soaked, or even damp really. Just lightly misted. ALSO, never spray your brush first, then dip it into the product, it can ruin your powder.

Well thats it for now. These are just some things I have had on my mind that I thought I would share.

Review: LUSH Imperialis Moisturizer

This is SERIOUS holy grail material right here. Ladies, drop everything you are doing, run to your closest LUSH store or type in www.lush.com into your url bar and search up this product!!

Price:
$21.35 for 1.5 oz. I know that sounds pricey, but you seriously will not believe how little of this I use. I dip the very little pad of my finger into the tub and thats it for half my face. I think the price is amazing.

Texture:
The texture of this is almost watery, which made me think it wouldnt hydrate very well but i was wrong. Its very light, and sinks into the skin almost immediately. The skin just drinks this stuff up and becomes super hydrated! It hydrates my super dry cheeks, but did not make my normal-oily tzone greasy or heavy feeling.

Scent:
Its made with lavender and ornage flower, but honestly it just smells very "natural". I know natural isnt a smell, but that is the only way to describe it. It is not strong or overpowering and disappears in a minute or so.

Overall, I think this is an amazinggggg facial moisturizer. I think people with oily skin would really benefit from this as well as people with dry skin. and everything in between.

I give this a 5 out of 5!

Review: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I dont know how I ever lived without this top coat. Seriously, heres just a quick rundown. NO mumbo jumbo in this post today.

I have super duper brittle nails. They bend, break, peel, you name it. Even with polish on, my nails still arent super hard. That is unless I used Seche Vite.

This stuff makes my nails hard as rocks. On top of that, dries SUPER fast. You put it on after a minute or so of polishing, not right away, but once its tacky, and it dries within just a few minutes to a rock hard finish.

And my favorite part, this stuff is SUPERRRRRR shiney. It looks like I dipped my nails in liquid glass.

I purchase this from www.8ty8beauty.com where it is $4.25 for 0.5 oz or $15.90 for the 0.5oz bottle plus a big bottle for refills that is 4 oz.

LUSH Review: Sandstone And Bamboo Soaps

When I received my LUSH order, they were nice enough to throw in two soap samples. Hope my reviews are helpful! (images courtesy of www.lushusa.com)

Sandstone Soap:
My sample looked nothing like this. Obvisouly is it a tiny sliver, and not the whole block, but my soap only had a few little sand grains. Nothing over the top like this looks. So it does have some exfoliation, but my little sample didnt, so I cant comment much on theat part of the soap.

The scent is SUPER SWEET LEMON! Not like a tart, citrus-y lemon, but really sweet. The most perfect way to describe the smell is it reminds me of those super cheap lollipops you get at the bank when you are a little kid. The lemon flavor. Lol. And if you were never lucky enough to
It lathers up very nicely, like a soap should, and rinsed off very clean. The scent lingered for a little bit and was lovely. If you like anything lemon scented, you will definitely love this soap.

Bamboo Soap:
This soap has no exfoliation to it. Just an everyday soap. I really loved the scent of this soap. Although it isnt described as so on the site, it smells lik eucalyptus to me. Which is a scent I love. Most of the LUSH products I have, the scents are SUPER strong and over powering, but not with this soap. And I like that. Again, this is just a basic soap. Lathers nicely, rinses off clean and leaves a VERY faint scent on the skin. The smell of this is very relaxing, but its not a soap I would use daily. More so when I want a relaxing bath.

LUSH Review: Rockstar Soap

When I placed my first Lush order, I KNEW I had to include this product in my package. I heard nothing but rave reviews on it.

After waiting wayy too long for shipping (LUSH PLEASE BUILD A LUSH STORE CLOSER THAN 400 MILES AWAY FROM ME) I recieved my package yesterday.

I ripped my box open and marveled over all my new goodies. Reviews to come for each product.

I couldnt wait to take a shower. I ran into the house, started the shower and hopped in with HUGE expectations.

Price:

Pricey, but not horrible. More than "Dove" type soaps, but still reasonable. $7.95 USD for 3.5 oz.

Texture:

When dry: smooth. soft, like a firm stick of butter. When wet: even softer. Has a wonderful thick lather that smells amazing. I was pleasently surpised to see that it didnt melt as quickly as I thought. And the little peice I cut off will definitely last me another shower or two. I also watched a review on youtube where the girl said it was really hard to cut and she was going to have her dad do it, but I found my peice to be really soft. Not melty soft, but very simple to cut. Like butter.

Smell:

Ok, I have to be honest. When I first opened the box and sniffed it through the wax paper, I was nervous. It didnt smell anything like I had expected. It is described as vanilla-berry by LUSH but I must disagree. The smell was EXTREMELY overwhelming. Almost nauseating. I was really worried to use this all over my body. BUTTTT, once cut into a smaller peice, and lathed up, it wasnt that strong at all. It was MUCH lighter. The smell as a whole bar is a bit like really super cheap strawberry shampoo. Like I said though, once cut into a smaller peice and used as soap, the smell was much lighter. It did linger in my bathroom all night which was pleasent, and stayed on my skin as well. I couldnt really smell it on my skin this morning. I feel like you will either love this smell or hate it. Im on the fence.

Overall, I do intend to use up the whole bar I purchased. It cleans like a nice soap, lathed up well, left my skin feeling clean, but not dry. I dont think I will re-purchase this soap due to the smell. It isnt horrible, but not on the top of my list. I think I will try some other soaps to find my favorite scent.

I give this product a 3 out of 5. It does work very well as a lovely soap, but the scent is not for me.

Hey Everyone! I wanted to apologize for being slightly MIA. I have been completely sluggish and out of whack the last few days. Sleeping like a rock at night, but have no energy to get out of bed. Which stinks because i work 2 jobs daily! lol.

Anyhow, i called Lush on the 24th to ask where the heck my stinkin shipment was! Its been approved for like 2 weeks now!

So the other day, my friend and I took the 25 minute treck to Target! Oh how I love me some Target!

I had time to actually do my makeup, and take a "decent" picture.

Natural sunlight. Still washes my skin out, but at least the eyeshadow looks true to life.

MAC Grand Duo Collection Review

When i first heard about this collection i was super excited! I LOVEEEE blushes and face products. Way more than eye stuff. Granted i love eyeshadows and doing eye makeup, i uch more prefer "painting" my face!

I wanted to order all of them, but they were $22.50/each. Yeah, right. I decided to only order the ones i really loves and would use often.

Packaging:
Typical MAC packaging. No special LE stuff here. Half is a solid mineralized color, half is a marbled mineralized side with vein-ing of other colors to compliment the solid "blush" side. Gorgeous to look at.

Texture/Payoff:
Amazing. The pigmentation of these are great. Definitely why MAC promoted to duo fiber 188. They are super smooth and blend beautifully.

Shimmer/Sheen:
YESSSS it is there. No it is not a chunky shimmer. There is no glitter in these. It is a very strong pearlescent sheen. Absolutely stunning!

Overall, i dont have much to say about these. My favorite is Earth to Earth. Will be a summer staple for sure. Love Rock is next! Awesome purple/pink. Moon River is my least favorite, although i still love it. It is just very light, so i feel it will look best layered over a darker cream base. If you love shimmering, pigmented, fun cheek stuff, you should get these.

Ive taken the plunge ladies!

I am constantly browsing Lush's site, oogling over all the goodies! But not being able to see them in person (and smell them) has made me not order them due to the price.

I have a quick question.

I am keeping all of the prizes for the winner a secret right now like i said before. But they will be beauty/makeup related prizes.

BUUTTTTT i have a question.

I have the "new" Studio Sculpt foundation in NC25. Now i know some people LOVE this foundation, but it DOES NOT work well with my skin. It didnt break me out, but i just love my SFF much more. So should i include it in my prize package? There is about 98% left. And its just sitting in my traincase.

After a few weeks of HATING my skin, I decided to jump on the apricot scrub bandwagon.

I tried this stuff back in middle school and could not stand it. It felt horrible on my skin. Ever since, I decided I would never waste my money on this stuff again.

Winter took a huge toll on my skin. I moved right before the start of winter from sunny, hot, humid Florida to freezing, snowy, dry Tennessee. Talk about skin on the fritz. And lately, my chin and jaw line have been freaking out in pimples and whiteheads! Im telling you I cant catch a break.

My Aunt's wedding was last week so I needed to find something to help my skin. Plus, ive been on the hunt for a new exfoliator. Cue on St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead control.

Packaging:

Love it. Upside dowen squeeze tube. Sturdy. Big base do it doesnt fall over. Sanitary since it isnt in a tub. A+

Texture:

Looks like grainy mustard. May be slightly too abrasive for people with sensitive skin. The scrubbing particles are slightly rough. Does not lather up. (at least not noticeably).

Smell:

Very light and faint. Those with sensitive noses would approve.

Performance:

This scrub did help my chin breakout. I used it on Monday last week. Then again on wednesday before leaving for the wedding. The breakouts on my chin started to clear up, as well as the whiteheads. I didnt feel this product was drying at all. Although I always follow up cleansing/exfoliating with a moisturizer. The scrub also helped slough off the dry skin I tend to have on my cheeks and around my nose. Made my skin looked more even overall and much brighter.

Honestly, for under 5 bucks, this scrub is excellent. It can be found nearly everywhere. I have seen it aty walgreens, CVS, my local grocery store, walmart, target, etc. I will definitely continue to use it this product 1-2 times a week.

Organix Teetree Mint Shampoo and Conditioner

I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Ok, ok, ok, its NOT perfect in everyway, but its pretty darn close!

Scent:
Minty, tee tree oil rolled into one! Really refreshing and wakes you up!

Texture:
The shampoo is exactly like that squeeze jelly! That is the only way to describe it. Its not heavy but very jelly-like. Lathers really well!
The conditioner is slightly watery, but i like it!

Price:
AMAZING! It is $6.99 for the shampoo, and $6.99 for the conditioner at Walgreens, but i bought them at Walmart. Reguardless, wonderful price.

Overall:
Tee Tree is wonderful for dry/irritated/itchy scalps! And the smell really gets the blood flowing! This really makes my hair SHINE! Which is unusual for my hair!
It does not weigh my hair down one bit, which is awesome for my curls or to keep my ironed hair from getting flat.
the biggest thing i dont like is that the conditioner has some alcohol in it. and i dont like that very much. BUT it makes a great conditioner to do when i dont shampoo. I try to only shampoo if i used mousse or what not in my curly hair and only try to wahs everyother shower. So the conditioner comes in great then! I can conditioner my hair without shampooing, but still feel like it is super clean due to the alcohol in it!

Updated Reviw: Studio Sculpt

I know in my initial review i said that SC was neck and neck with my SFF.

BOLOGNA! Thats what i say to that.
"I would like to retract my statement, please"

I dont care for this foundation AT ALL. Im not sure what the heck im going to do with it!

First off, it never blends into my skin. IT just sits on top. From about 3-4 feet away, sure looks fine, but any closer and EEEEEK not good. You can just see it sitting on top.

Application methods i have tried:
187 brush. I have to buff for a solid 10 or so minutes before it looks just ok. Yeah, no thanks for that.
181 brush. Hmm much quicker, looked great from afar. Up close, yuckkk! Uneven, just sits on skin.
Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge. My favrotie of the 3 but still not great. The sponge sheers out the coverage JUST slightly so im ok with it, but i still dont love the way it looked.

No matter the method i try, it just sits on my skin. And on top of that DOES NOT LAST. Seriously, with or without primer, this baby just slides right off my skin! GRRR.
Plus, it looks HORRRRRRRRIBLE on top of blemishes and just magnafies the fact that my skin isnt baby butt smooth.

NOW, NOW, NOW, i am going to hold on to this. I THINKKKK if my skin was cleared up (like my chin/jaw area) it would look good. And if i can get my skin to be more even with exfoliating, it may be nice.

You will like this foundation if:
You have clear super baby smooth skin, and in that case you dont even need foundation!

What’s the one product you wouldn’t leave your house without? Well i dont so much bring alot of makeup with me ( i used to) but one product i wont leave my house without wearing, Studio Fix Fluid!

What’s your favourite makeup look – high drama OR natural? I wouldnt say "high drama" but not natural. I like to do smokey eyes when going out, so since i dont get to do them often i will say more "made up" looks.

Which feature do you play up the most? Hmm, i will have to say my skin. Meaning contouring and highlighting and my cheeks. I do my eyes but not everyday, since im always in a rush, but i ALWAYS do face makeup, and my favorite thing to do is glowy skin/cheeks.

One beauty treatment you would always PAY to have done? Hmm, im going with Steph on this and sayin my hair. I still dye it on my own, but i would NEVER EVER cut it myself. (well except my bangs which im growing out as usual lol)

One beauty treatment you would NEVER pay to have done? Hmm i cant say NEVER, but my nails. I still get them done (acrylic or gels) ocassionally, but i can do my own acrylics, so yeah.

One beauty trick you can share with everyone? Hmm, i have so many little ones that most people know, but. When dying your hair yourself, always put a thin layer of vaseline around your hair line and on your whole neck (sides and back). this way when you apply the dye and get some on your skin, none of it dyes your skin and it wipes off easily.

Best advice you've ever been given regarding beauty and makeup? oh wow, there are SO many. Hmm im gonna have to say, maoisturizing at night and in the morning. I never really realized how important it was. My skin is very thankful! Lol

Ok, i seriously realized that i said "Hmmm" in almost every reply. Sheesh!

Coastal Scents Palettes!

I absolutely adore all of the Coastal Scents palettes. They have made my life SO much easier, and i i havent spend thouasand of dollars trying to fill palettes. Here are the palettes i have, and my opinion on them!! Hope this helps some of you!

10 Piece Professional Blush Palette $16.95
I absolutely LOVE this palette. I rarely reach for my other blushes (Sephora, MAC, etc)
The top row all have some shimmer in them, while the bottom are mostly matte except for the 2nd in from the left. They all have a wonderful pigmentation, and are even great layered together. My only issue is that these are not super easily blendable. Some are easier than others. But some do require a bit more blending, which really isnt a huge issue, but may be for some beginners.

Contour & Blush Palette $19.95

This palette is just OKAY to me. I like the contour shade, although it is a bit dark for me. But i am able to sheer it out by picking up only a tiny amount. The highlight colors are all wonderful and light. They dont make your face look WHITE, YELLOW, OR PEACH, they just give a nice highlight in that tone. The blushes in this palette (top and bottom both far right) are really pretty, but i reall wish this palette was 3 highlights, 3 contour shades, like light-medium-dark contour. I still use this palette, but mostly just the contour, and ocassional highlighting (which i dont do super often)

Ultra Shimmer 88 Eye Shadow Palette $24.95.

This was my first purchase and palette from CS. I know alot of people have the matte/satin one, but i love the shimmer one. There are some satin shades and some are more pearl finish, some shimmer, and some super shimmer. But they arent glittery, so im very happy with this as opposed to the original matte/satin one. I use this palette all the time! I have the original shiney case but it now comes in a matte case which is MUCH nicer (which = no fingerprints!! )This palette has a small mirror and 2 dual end sponge tipped applicators included.

26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette $21.95.

I purchased this palette after seeing a review and tutorial by makeupbytiffanyd on youtube and loved the colors. It seems though that not many people have this palette.

The blushes can easily be used as eyeshadows and vice versa. This palette contains matte/satin/pearl/shimmer finishes. I love the colors in this palette: pinks, corals, plums, browns, and golds. LOVE this palette. I need to start using it more!

28 Piece Eye Shadow Neutral Palette $21.95

I just received this palette yesterday so i have not done a look with it, but i have swatched a few colors. Overall, i like this palette, but i wish the colors were more NEUTRAL/NUDE. Yes, most of them are, but i feel some of them have a lot of pinkish tones, and well as some taupe-y colors. I really wanted this palettes for complete nudes/neautrals. Like different shades of white/tan/khaki/brown etc. Online it looks more nude, but in real life, some of the colors have pink-coral-purple undertones. Overall, this seems like a really nice palette and im excited to use it!

I am very happy with all of my purchases through Coastal Scents. I think that their palettes are of wonderful quality for a super great price. I know many of these palettes are on Ebay for sale, but i dont like buying anything of Ebay and prefer to use a reputable seller/business like Coastal Scents.

Better Late Than Never!!

I feel HORRIBLE! Stephanie was so awesome with the prize pack i won from her contest!
Its been too long for this post.
This picture is missing some stuff but this is the stuff i have used most.
the makeup bag is HUGE! I love it. I used it to hold my empties for B2Ming.

The little pot to the left is the Inglot Lip Paint. I wasnt sure if i liked the color at first, but now i LOVE IT, and i love the texture. SO smooth and silky and not sticky.

It goes well with the MAC creme liner in summerfruit which is next to it.

Then the MAC holiday eyes palette. This is my first MAC holiday palette and i LOVE the colors in this baby.

Next is the Revlong Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer. I actually really like this stuff minus the strong perfume-y smell.

Next to that are the two minerals from Everyday Minerals. A blush and a concealor. I LOVE them. The blush is sooooo pigmented i only need a little tiny bit!!!!!

Liek i said this is not everything, i had some lashes, a bronzer, couple other things, but this is the stuff i have USED and use fairly often!!

Review: BioInfusion Hydrating Conditioning Balm

My hair need serious moisture! Between blowdrying, straightening, dandruff shampoo, and naturally curly hair, my hair REQUIRES serious hydration.

Thats where this baby comes in! I LOVE BioInfusion products. They are salon quality hair products at drugstore prices. this retails fro $14.99 at www.walgreens.com. I picked it up on sale for $9.99.

Packaging:
HUGE TUB! I like tubs for thick hair products. I like being able to see in the tub and see how much is left.

Texture:
Like a super duper thick conditioner

Scent:
Like a salon conditioner. I LOVEEEE the smell of salon products. This isnt fruity, perfume-y, citrus-y, it just smells like a fresh, clean, salon product. you know that smell im talking about.
I conditioned with this last night, and even after using my CHI silk infusion, blowdrying, and flat ironing, i can still smell it! MMM.

Overall:
This conditioner is LOVE at first rinse. I have used this on and off for a year or so. After shampooing, i use about the amount of half an egg. I scoop it out, concentrate it on the ends and hair shaft, then whatever is left on my scalp. I massage it on and leave it for a few minutes while i shave/etc, then rinse it out. It does not weigh my hairdown like many heavy hair balms can.
It leave my hair SUPER soft, shiney, and MOISTURIZED! The price is wonderful at $14.99 and even better when its on sale.

I love all of the BioInfusion hair products (IE: shampoos and conditioners) and i like that this lines shampoos and conditioners come in huge bottles with pumps! Makes my life so much easier!

I give this a product a 5 out of 5. It really is an awesome product and gets the job done!

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation Review

No pictures, not much to see lol since it matches my skin.

Anywho, I had ran out of my beloved Studio Fix Fluid, but had not placed an order for the foundation because i didnt want to pay shipping for one item. I realized Studio Sculpt had come out, so I ordered my normal SFF and the SC (studio sculpt).

I figured, if I didnt love SC, i could return it and still have my HG SFF. or vise versa.

Color:
was spot on. i ordered it in NC25 like i do with SFF. matched better than my SFF.

Texture:
Very thick. definitely gel like. But once applied, it was SUPER light. I definitely could not feel anything on my face.

Coverage:
Definitely medium-full which is love! I was afraid it would be only like medium coverage and i would have to build it up. Which i hate and feel is wasting product. but it was very medium-full coverage. Even though the coverage was high, the feelign was very light, almost like i had nothing on which was lovely. Also, even though this is medium-full coverage, it can be sheered out easily by using less or mixing it with some moisturizer.

Finish:
For me, it gave a matte finish that was natural, slightly dewy. Like a soft matte finish. I have dry cheeks with normal-oily t-zone, and after 3 hours i was SLIGHTLY shiney, but i didnt put a powder on top. I wanted to see how it performed on its own.

Overall:
I reallly like this foundation. Its neck and neck with my SFF. I cant say i like it more, but i will not be returning it. I really love the squeeze tube packaging which isnt cheapy feeling at all.

You will like this if:
You dont have super oily skin, or dont mind using a blot/finishing powder. Dont like the heavier feel of SFF. Prefer more coverage. Hate the packaging of other MAC foundation.

I give this product a 4 out of 5 because it does what i expected but didnt WOW me more than my SFF.

Cherry Culture Haul and Bad Blogger

Yes I know, I've been a bad blogger. *slap on the wrists* I really havent had a ton to blog about though. I still have to get my review on the loot I won from Steph's contest (www.makeupbabble.blogspot.com) but I really want to use the stuff enough before I chat about them. And to be honest, i have been going to work BARE FACED for awhile now. I have been oversleeping like whoa, so I havent had much to blog about.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light

I realized I have not done a review on this yet, and im almost through an entire bottle!

I used to use the Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder/Gel which is almost an exact dupe for the original Smashbox Photo Finish primer, but it broke me out and felt very heavy.

I got a sample of the original Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, but felt it was still too heavy. I asked a sales associate at Sephora what she would recommend and she told me to try the Light one.

After getting a sample, I fell in love! The sales associate explained to me that is it great for people with oily skin (which it says on the back on the bottle as well).

It is white as opposed to that clear/gel look of the original. It also has more of a lotion texture and doesnt feel as silicone-y. It does still have that silky feeling when applied on the skin, but it is not heavy at all.

I really love this primer, but wish it wasnt so expensive. I have had the bottle a few months (i think i bought it around october) and its almost half gone. I use a pump or a pump and a quarter pump to do my whole face. I really love this because it does help with shiney-ness even though im not overly oily.

I also LOVE the packaging! I love pump bottles, and even buy pumps to put on bottles that dont come with one. Also when you start to use enough, you will see the bottom part of the bottle rises, inside the bottle, so you get every last drop. As opposed to typical pump bottles where you have to take the pump out and shake/dump the remaining product out. I really like that about this primer.

I recommend this primer if:

you have oily skin
you dont like the feeling of heavy primers
other primers cause breakouts
dont mind splurging a bit

I definitely give this product a 4 out of 5!

8ty8 Nail Polish Haul

Last week, I received my order from 8ty8 Beauty Supply. I ordered som enail paints and 3 China Glaze polishes.

Dont have names of paints, but i will get them for you if you would like:

Last 3 polishes are: CG Kaleidiscope him out, For Audrey, Emerald Sparkle.

I LOVE the nail paints. They have long, skinny, brushes so you can do designs on the nails. They were only $1.50 each!!!! I know, great deal!

EXCEPT....all my dang nails broke. Actually, i bit a few of them. I know, horrible. I didnt have paint on them and BAM! , short nails.

So, i am working on growing them again, so i can do better designs.

The polishes are wonderful! I reallllllllllly love them! My favorite is Emerald Sparkle. I have been dying for this polish. I Really love Kaleidiscope him out. Its a SUPER sparkly shade. I wish i had this for New Years Eve! For audry is a creme-y sky blue. Supposed to be like Tiffany Blue.

I really enjoyed my experience with 8ty8 and will definitely be purchasing from them again!

Far away view. Everything on top is stuff i use everyday. Shelf underneath holds cleaning wipes (for desk), traincase with backups, stuff i dont use as often. Plastic drawers hold misc stuffs, cheap pencils etc.

I got the organizers at Target. I think i spend like 20 bucks on them. the left one is most of my face stuff, eye pencils, lip stuff, singe eyeshadows etc. The right one is all of my palettes, and the rest is described in the picture.

Again, this is not everything, and i have added to this picture since receiving a few hauls. Lol.

Brushes. Dirty, yes, and those are headbands on my lamp.

Nail polishes (have more in my bedroom, these are things i use often. MAC pigments, Beauty from the earth minerals, blacktrack fluidline, etc

Some hair stuff. I have a lot more but again, daily usage. My SO and I bought the shelf already finished at Lowe's, bought the L brackets to mount it, and drilled the holes in it to hold my curling iron, flat iron, and blowdryer.

So this is it! I was going to do a collection post, but i really didnt feel like i needed to open all my palettes, etc.

MAD at MAC!!

Ok, so i made a MAC BBR purchase. Just some lipglosses, lipsticks, and the Redhead MSF. I decided to use my other credit card instead of the card i already have online with my MAC account. I recieve an email saying it can verify my billing address.

ok things happen, ive moved 3 times in the last few months. I go online to my credit card, verfiy my address with the MAC rep, get another emailt he next day saying the same thing. OK well thats funny...

I decide to just use the regular card i have on account with MAC. So i give her that info, then this morning,again, cant verify my mailing address. Seriously, it just makes me so mad, that im not even going to try again. It wil be my 4th time on the ohone with them, and it has given me time to realize i dont NEED any of the stuff i wanted. Since i already have other stuff i can use. SO now im getting nothing from the collection i wanted to so badly !

UGH!

I took pics of everything last night!!!!!!! i got them uploaded, but didnt have time this morning to email them to my work email. I will do that when i get home from lunch, so i will have my vanity post this afternoon.

ALSO, my MAC haul is coming today. I got MAC fast response eye cream, and Studio Finish Concealer a few days ago with 25% off.

UPS says its out for delivery, so i will be doing a review on those early next week, when i really get a chance to try them a few times.

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful and safe New Year's. Mine was good. My parents have a HUGE party at there house (which is on the lake) and all the neighbors come up. There was about 60 people. It was crazy insane, and so much fun!

Then, this past weekend, me and my SO added to my vanity. We built this awesome shelf that houses my hair stuff and what not.

I took a picture and what not, BUTTTT of course, i cannnnot find the USB cord, AGAIN! So until me and SO and our beagle sniff it out, no pictures.

MAC Zoom Lash Review

No picture, but i will try and get them this week. I will post a before and after.

I got a mini Zoom Lash Mascara with the holiday set i ordered.

I have been using this everyday since Monday, and this is how i feel about it.

Overall:
Its a good everyday Mascara that adds alot of length in my opinion. It is a very true black, which i love. It goes on easily, and im surprised at how much i love the tinier brush that is skinny on the end, and gets a little thicker as you go more towards the wand handle. Typically, i like fat brushes/wands. The smell is a bit overwhelming.

Pros:

Love the brush, it gets to every little tiny lash on top and bottom.
Really lengthens the lashes
Doesn't flake
Very black

Cons:

Doesnt make the lashes very full. While it does add length, it doesnt add much volume and fullness
The smell. It has the strong Mascara smell. Im not sure if all MAC masraca's do, but this one certainly does. Like right now, its 10:00am my time, i put my mascara on at 8:15am, and i can STILL smell it. Most mascara smells will fade, but not with this one. I specifically remember yesterday when i could smell it around 3pm. Its not horribly strong, but it does linger. So if you are sensitive to smells, i really dont recommend this.

Hand Care

As many of you know, the first signs on aging show in and around your eyes and hands. I have never really liked my hands, they are always dry. And i was a nail biter so my nails were always short.

Thankfully, i have kicked the biting habit (for now lol) and my nails are over 5/8 of an inch, from cuticle to tip (last measuremeant about a week ago)

My cuticles are constantly cracking and dry, and i scratch at the cuticles on my thumbs.

If you remember, i tried the True Blue Spa cuticle treatment from Bath and Body Works and hated it.

I finally bought the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme, and i am in love!

I wash my hands frequently, which assists in the dryness. Now, everytime i wash my hands, i moisturize.

First, i apply the cuticle creme, then the Nivea Soft moisturizing creme. Both equally amazing.

I have noticed a difference in the appearance of my cuticles, and my hands are soft, almost glowy like when you first apply lotion to legs.

Its only been a few days of use, but im loving the cuticle creme. It is again, the texture of a lip balm, maybe a bit harder, and the tin will last so long! i keep it in my purse so no matter when i need it, i have it.

You will like these if:

You have splitting, dry, or cracking cuticles
You would like to promote healthy nail growth
You want super soft hands

EOTD: White and Purple

In the pictures, the purple is REALLY washed out. UGH! I will try to get better at this makeup picture taking. Lol.

I love purples, i feel like they really make my brown eyes pop.

How To:

Apply UDPP from lashline to brow bone.
Use NYX jumbo eye pencil in "milk" on inner half lid as white base
Use NYX jumbo eye pencil in "purple" on outter half lid as pruple base.
Using the 239, pat NYX eyeshadow in "white frost" on inner half of lid, over white pencil.
Using the other side of the 239, pat Urban Decay's Asphyxia eyeshadow on outter half of lid
Pull puple through the crease.
Use MAC Shroom as highlight color.
Put NYX "milk" pencil on lower inner half lashline, followed by NYX "purple" pencil on outter lower lashline.
Using a pencil brush, like MAC's 219, apply NYX "white frost" over white liner, and UD "Asphyxia" over purple liner.
Coat lashes in CoverGirl Lash Blash Mascara in Black.

Finito!!!

HAS ARRIVED! Its so amazing how excited i get when UPS pulls up and the UPS man is carrying a little black box.

I got my MAC haul. Nothing huge, but super exciting.

I will probably be posting tonight my MAC haul that just arrived, and some hauling i did yesterday, as well as the makeup stuffs i got for Christmas!

EOTD: Neutral with colored liner

Again, i hate this picture, i took liek 10 pictures and every one was washed out!

Excuse the brows, i have YET to find a place to get my eyebrows threaded.

How to:

Apply UDPP (urban decay primer potion) from lash line to brow bone.
Using MAC 239, apply Urban Decay "shag" on entire lid up to crease
Apply MAC "shroom" to highlight
Using MAC 217, apply Urban Decay "underground" to crease and outer V
Line upper lashline with MAC Blacktrack Fluidline with MAC 263 brush.
Line lower lashline with any teal eyeliner.

I have NEVER done colored eyeliner, especially anything that even remotely is close to the color blue, but i liked it. I may experiment more with contrasting liner colors like this.
